Isaac Helsen is a Grand Rapids, Michigan based ambient artist and co-founder of respected electronic record label, Past Inside the Present. Having released a collaborative album with zaké, ‘beliefsystems’ on PITP this past June, Isaac now comes to El Muelle Records with ‘Burning House.’

This 7-song album turns Isaac’s focus away from guitar, highlighting analog synth and field recordings. His vision was to veer away from comfort and explore new processes of sound design with a greater focus on detailed composition and arrangement. The beginning stages of this album date back to 2017 when Isaac began to develop a greater connection between photography and music, realizing this was a way to naturally spark new musical ideas. The album’s field recordings are re-used and processed differently throughout the seven pieces, representing repetitive and distorted thought processing. ‘Burning House’ leaves the listener with simultaneous residues of darkness and comfort, the recurring themes like blankets in the cold.

Isaac Helsen es un artista ambiental basado en Grand Rapids, Michigan y cofundador del respetado sello discográfico electrónico Past Inside the Present. Después de haber lanzado un álbum colaborativo con zaké, "beliefsystems" en PITP el pasado Junio, Isaac ahora llega a El Muelle Records con "Burning House".

Este álbum de 7 canciones aparta el enfoque de Isaac de la guitarra, destacando el sintetizador analógico y grabaciones de campo. Su visión era alejarse de la comodidad y explorar nuevos procesos de diseño de sonido con un mayor enfoque en la composición y los arreglos detallados. Las etapas iniciales de este álbum empiezan en 2017, cuando Isaac comenzó a desarrollar una conexión entre la fotografía y la música, al darse cuenta de que esta era una forma de generar nuevas ideas musicales de forma natural. Las grabaciones de campo del álbum se reutilizan y procesan de manera diferente a lo largo de las siete piezas, lo que representa un procesamiento de pensamiento repetitivo y distorsionado. "Burning House" deja al oyente con residuos simultáneos de oscuridad y comodidad, estos son temas recurrentes como mantas en el frío.
